Go Baja Riding Tours in Riverside
Go Baja Riding Tours
Warning to future Go Baja Tour Riders. Just to clarify this review in no way reflects poorly on the support team. Ernesto, Ricardo & Tyler were nothing short of amazing. My warnings below are a direct result of our dealings with the owner Bruce. Even with all of this we still had an amazing time but these are definitely things to know prior to going into the middle of the desert!
1. We wasted the first day! We were told we had to fly into San Diego to have a meeting to discuss the trip go over rules etc... when we met we got right on the bus and headed for the border. We didn’t have a meeting until we were in Ensenada which could have easily been held the next day. We were held up at the boarder for over an hour due to Go Baja Tours not having proper documentation and were told that if anyone asks to tell them “we are just friends and not with a group tour” fortunately we were not asked.
2. It wasn’t until we were in Mexico on the day we were heading out that we were given a breakdown of costs should any equipment get damaged. We had multiple emails and forms to sign prior to the trip but this was not included nor were there copies made for us to keep.
3. We were NOT instructed on what speed we should or should not be going. It wasn’t until AFTER one of our buggies flipped over that we were told we were going “way to fast”. When in reality we were just trying to keep up with our leader Bruce.
4. We were very clear prior to the trip that four of us are vegetarians and we were insured that there would always be a vegetarian protein option. The lunches consisted of ham and cheese sandwich’s the vegetarians had to eat bread cheese lettuce tomato every day. The restaurants were not given advance notice of this which resulted in them having to be creative at the last minute.
5. We were told that our entire group would have walkie talkie communication on the ride. Not only did our two dirt bike rides not have radios but several of the buggies went entire days without communication. This poses a serious risk for many reasons... A. You can’t notify other drivers that are hauling ass behind you that you fell off your Bike and are laying in the road on a downhill turn with a 100’ + cliff on the side. B. You can’t notify other drivers of oncoming cars, trucks, bikes, buggies C. You can’t call for help if you get lost from the group. (Yes all of these happened)
6. We received charges on our credit cards for damages which were more wear & tear items to our vehicles without reviewing the damage and the end of the trip. We were also charged for the labor to fix these wear and tear items which were repaired on the road trip during time we had already paid for.
