The majority of our patients have been diagnosed with one or multiple: arthritis, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, torn rotator cuffs, torn meniscus, or bursitis.
They are offered pain meds, injections, or told the next step is surgery. However, they don't want any of those interventions. This is where we step in and keep them away from unnecessary healthcare. Our patients tell us they want to stay active through running, yoga, dancing, tennis, golfing, pilates, crossfit, Orange Theory, HIIT, or sleeping better. If you have pain with movement then we can help. Every patient who works with Kaizen Physical Therapy is treated with a whole-body approach. This is because pain is just a symptom.
There are almost an infinite number of reasons for pain occurring. For example, when picking an object up off the floor it requires proper mobility at the ankles, knees, hips, and back. If the activity which hurts is bending over then we must look at all of the body parts which are used with this activity, not just the area of pain.
It is often that the area of pain is the area which is being overworked because somewhere else in the body isn't doing its job fully. For example, if the hips aren't moving like they should then the low back has to do more work, thus becoming painful. Assessing the entire body and how it all functions together with movement and activity is the long term solution to pain.
We don't just treat symptoms, we treat the underlying cause of pain and look at the entire body.
